Brodie McHaggis and the Curse of the Scotch Mist

Published May 2007

Another fun-tastic read for all the family - a magical blend of mystery, humour and suspense

Brodie McHaggis and the Secret of Loch NessThe haggis believes that people are simply myth.  After centuries of peaceful living in a world apart from the Scottish Highlands, a young haggis changed that when he went  in search of the truth.

Brodie's hunger for the truth sends him into yet another turmoil of magical adventure as he returns to the Highlands once again.  It may only be a matter of time before there is a world without haggises, as Gertruda McNorris, their darkest enemy, is ever closer to achieving her goal.

Brodie is about to find out that he hasn’t won the battle with Gertruda.  The fight for survival continues as he is forced to return to the Scottish Highlands.  Can he avoid the Curse of the Scotch Mist as he delves deeper into the world of faeries and magic, and can he free the haggis from extinction?

Another Scottish blend of magic, suspense and adventure for all the family.

PROLOGUE

The Haggis

The haggis is an odd-looking creature.  Newly born haggises, or haggisen, could be mistaken for ginger-red cotton wool balls running around on three matchsticks.  Their ability to run and swim with only three legs, and use their feet as hands and fingers too, is both comical and astounding.  They love to sing and their bagpipe wails can be heard for miles around.  Seeing the haggis at work and at play is both an incredible and inspiring sight to watch.

Unfortunately, Brodie McHaggis may have changed all of that.  It may only be a matter of time before there will be no more haggises to watch; no more haggises to run around the Dunroamin hillside; and no more haggises to listen to.

In his belief that he has freed the haggises from all danger, Brodie was only too happy to return home after his battles with his darkest enemy, Gertruda McNorris.  But he is just about to discover how wrong he was and how close he is to a world without haggises.  The battle continues …
